The Porter County Expo Center was built in 1984 to serve the entire community all year around for a variety of events. The Expo Center is owned by Porter County government and is a self-sustaining venue in that it does not rely on taxpayer dollars for day to day operations.
In 1984, Porter County government entered into a lease agreement with the Porter County Agricultural Society (Fair Board) to hold the annual Porter County Fair on our grounds. The Fair Board has invested millions of dollars over the years in our facilities, including construction of many of our buildings, along with annual maintenance and improvements.
